Paul Stoner’s interest in railroading started with a family trip to the West Coast from the Midwest aboard the Santa Fe Super Chief in 1952. I received a Revell HO train set for Christmas in 1959 but I really didn’t get serious about model railroading until I was a junior in college. In the early 1970’s I started building my first home layout and participated in a weekly ad hoc operating group of modelers. We met informally each week at a different member’s home layout. He joined the NMRA in 1973 and became a Lifetime Member in 1975. However, family and career got in the way of serious modeling until 2008 when I got back into the hobby with N scale. He was a member of the Tri-Cities Society of Model Engineers in Niles, CA until he returned to Orange County CA in 2014 and joined the Orange County ‘N’ Gineers in 2015 and been building N-Trak and T-Trak modules since joining. Currently, he is president of the club and also co-chair of the Clinics Committee for the Surfliner2024 NMRA Convention.
