Michael Frezell is the deputy communications director for the Michigan Department of Transportation and holds a bachelor's degree in communication studies from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. He has been passionate about trains since he was about 5 years old and has been a card-carrying member of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) since 1997. A proud member of the Lansing Model Railroad Club since 1995, Frezell has served as the organization's president, vice president, membership secretary, and current recording secretary. Over the years, he helped lead the club through a building expansion project, movement and restoration of a local railroad tower, and coordinating and promoting a large annual train show. Frezell also belongs to the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad and Chessie System historical societies and serves as a commissioner on the Eaton County (Michigan) Historical Commission.
